Historic Villa Vorno is a very large, early 19th century frescoed villa, designed by the famous architect, Lorenzo Nottolini. Nestling in 50 acres of pine forests, olive groves and pine forests the villa lies about 8 kilometers to the south of Lucca and has extensive gardens, a floodlit tennis court, a large swimming pool and several different al fresco dining areas.
The main house accommodates 24 people in ten double bedrooms and two twin bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms . On the ground floor is one double bedroom, a large family dining room with fireplace, a formal dining room, library, television room with satellite TV and the splendid 60 ft Tuscan kitchen and pantries. This was originally where the age old lemon trees of the villa were stored in the winter but is now used for cooking demonstrations, breakfast and lunch – it is a very light, sunny room and wonderful in winter or summer.
The other 11 bedrooms are on the mezzanine, second and third floor. Every bedroom is uniquely and luxuriously decorated with the finest drapery, linens and bed covers. While the house is situated in the heart of picturesque Vorno the surroundings are completely rural and tranquil but guests have the convenience of the village bar, shop and restaurant (Il Bimbotto) being only a walk away. The friendly staff will help guests discover less known places – markets, gardens, restaurants, shopping, perfect views and night spots.
